Nelumbo 'Beautiful Dancer' - Hardy Water Lotus
Beautiful Dancer opens a beautiful clear pink, aging to pink and yellow, then to a creamy white. The many single blooms are 3 to 4 inches in diameter and leaves are 6 to 10 inches. It is a good choice for containers or small ponds. It performs best when planted in a no-hole container at least 2 gallons or bigger. When restricted in pot size, Beautiful Dancer is a true bowl lotus, great for containers with or without a pond.
SIZE: SMALL to MEDIUM (Height 1' to 4', depending on container used)
Planting Container: We recommend a 2 1/2 Gallon Solid Planting Container or a 4 1/2 Gallon Solid Planting Container.
Light Requirements: FULL SUN
WATER DEPTH: 2" TO 12" (Maximum water depth is for mature lotus)
USDA HARDINESS ZONES: 4-11
Lotus are sold as bare root tubers, or sometimes later in the Spring as runners with small leaves. The growing points are fragile, and must be handled very carefully.
