Product Overview
Dwarf Umbrella Palm (Cyperus alternifolius 'Gracilis')
This smaller variety of the umbrella palm plant that only grows to about 2-3' tall. Bright green parasols of narrow leaves top each stem. As with most cyperus species, it is viviparous and will grow new plants from the junction of the leaf and stem. A nice addition for small water gardens or patio container gardens. Winters over easily as a houseplant in colder regions. One benefit of dwarf umbrella is that it does not form fertile seed, so it will not become a pest in warm winter regions, unlike the regular umbrella palm whose seed will germinate in moist soil.
