'Friendship of Supervisor & Student' -- Pink Versicolor Lotus (Nelumbo nucifera)
Very large, glowing pink blooms with faint white lines on the petals; first day blooms are strong pink with faint lines; blooms lighten as they age, and lines become more pronounced. As its pink tones get lighter, its center develops an intense yellow, so flowers of different ages on the same plant provide a range of color! Also one of the earliest lotus to bloom in the spring.
Friendship of Supervisor & Student is a large plant, and is popular in especially large tubs or planter boxes, and also set loose to naturalize in a soil bottom water feature; it also blooms best in these roomy settings!

Planting Container: We recommend a 4 1/2 Gallon Solid Planting Container or larger.

WATER DEPTH: 3" TO 12+" (Maximum water depth is for mature lotus)
USDA HARDINESS ZONES: 4-11
Lotus are sold as bare root tubers, or sometimes later in the Spring as runners with small leaves. The growing points of both tubers and runners are fragile, and must be handled very carefully.
