Product Overview
Iris versicolor 'Purple Flame'
Purple Flame is the newest of the purple-foliage blue flag iris group, and the strongest purple. Purple Flame's foliage is a striking purple when it emerges in Spring, gradually turning green as it matures. The attractive spring flowers are a darker blue-purple than the parent species, and the flowering stems are tall and black. An excellent choice for naturalizing along stream beds, natural pond shorelines, and marshy areas. Even darker than Dark Aura, and the purple coloration seems to stay longer.
