Nelumbo 'Mrs. Perry D. Slocum' Hardy Water Lotus
Mrs. Perry D. Slocum is a fragrant lotus with large double blossoms that open deep pink, change to pink and yellow the second day and creamy yellow on the third day. Free flowering on large mature plants, producing several flowers at the same time. With its large leaves (18-23 in.), this lotus makes a striking display when planted in a large container or planted near the shore in a natural pond.
SIZE: LARGE (Height 4' to 6', Medium to Large Spread)
Planting Container: We recommend a 4 1/2 Gallon Solid Planting Container or a 5 Gallon Solid Planting Container.
Light Requirements: FULL SUN
WATER DEPTH: 3" TO 24" (Maximum water depth is for mature lotus)
USDA HARDINESS ZONES: 4-11
Lotus are sold as bare root tubers, or sometimes later in the Spring as runners with small leaves. The growing points are fragile, and must be handled very carefully.
