Pennywort (Hydrocotyle verticillata)
Pennywort is excellent for stream beds or planted as a marginal plant in soil or gravel. It is a attractive when trailing along a stream or waterfall. The 1" to 2" leaves stand 6" to 12" out of the water, with the form resembling a very small lotus. It is a very fast grower, multiplying by underground runners, and will grow into the landscape if conditions are favorable and it is not restricted. Excellent filtering plant! Insignificant flowers. US native.

Light Requirements: full sun to part shade
Height: 6" to 12" - Spread: 12" to 24"
Water Depth: Moist soil to 12", and can also develop floating mats (Maximum water depth is for mature plants)
