Red Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis)

Enjoy intense red spikes of flowers during the summer and fall months. Cardinal Flower is very easy to grow and winters over easily. Provide protection In zones 5 and 6 to ensure winter survival. US native.

Hardiness Zone: 5-11
Planting Container: We recommend a medium planting bag.
Light Requirements: full sun to part shade
Height: 2'-4' - Spread: 12"
Water Depth: Moist soil or water up to 3" deep, prefers moist soil only unless planted in the running water of a streambed (Maximum water depth is for mature plants).

    I ordered 2 of these plants. They arrived very healthy. I put them in soaked soil and a shady place. A couple days later, I moved them to their permanent place and they are doing very well.

    Planted immediately has taken nicely to bog and growing already
