Nelumbo 'Sparks' Red Hardy Water Lotus
Sparks is a profuse bloomer with a delicate single bloom opening dark red, then lightening to a medium red. A good choice for containers or small ponds. Great for containers with or without a pond. Can easily be grown as a bowl lotus in a smaller pot.
SIZE: Small to Medium (Height 2' to 3', Small Spread)
Planting Container: We recommend a 2 1/2 Gallon Solid Planting Container or a 4 1/2 Gallon Solid Planting Container.
Light Requirements: FULL SUN
WATER DEPTH: 3" TO 12" (Maximum water depth is for mature lotus)
USDA HARDINESS ZONES: 4-11
Lotus are sold as bare root tubers, or sometimes later in the Spring as runners with small leaves. The growing points are fragile, and must be handled very carefully.
